Cumin

I use the Cumin extensively in my recipes. Cumin is used in Indian cuisine to flavor curry powder, and both are valued in the Ayurvedic healing system for its ability to stimulate digestion, as well as it’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This herb is known for its potential in fighting cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Cumin is a seed-derived spice. It is also known as “jeera” in Ayurvedic medicine. The seeds have been used to promote digestion and treat flatulence, diarrhea, toothache, scorpion stings and jaundice. Cumin is generally recognized as safe when used as a spice.
