Garam masala

Contains many different Indian spices and differs by region. For this reason, it is difficult to provide a brief summary of its benefits. The spice components of each regional mix are toasted, then ground together. Some varieties include black pepper, cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black and green cardamom, to name just a few. Note that black pepper is an important ingredient for the body’s absorption of curcumin. (See more below, under turmeric.)
